Undergraduate Beginner and Transfer Retention
The undergraduate retention reports track a cohort from the first semester through subsequent semesters. Reports include data from all IU campuses and compare persistence rates on a variety of characteristics. Here are descriptions for some of the reports available:
- Retention Characteristics - Retention from first semester to subsequent semesters for all campuses broken down by a variety of demographics.
- Retention and Graduation Rates - Graphical representation of retention and graduation rates over time for all campuses.
- Retention - Not Retained at IU - Top 10 institutions that pick up students not retained at IU.
- Retained vs Not Retained - compares the retained and not retained populations by selected student attribute.
Graduate Retention and Graduation Rates
The graduate retention and graduation reports include retention and graduation data for degree-seeking students starting graduate or professional studies. Here are descriptions for some of the reports available:
- Retention and Graduation Status - Summarizes retention and graduation data based on a selected timeframe after entry. Data are provided in both rate and frequency (count) formats.
- Retention and Graduation Metric Summary - Summarizes retention and graduation data based on selection of metric type and timeframe after entry. Data are sortable by breakdown category and metric totals.
- Retention and Graduation Metrics Over Time - Shows the change in a selected retention and graduation metric by terms out after entry.
- Masters Earned Status Before Doctorate - Applies to the doctorate level and summarizes whether the student earned a master's degree at IU prior to his/her enrollment in the doctoral program.
Undergraduate Graduation Rates Report
The Graduation Rates Report contains four, six, and eight year graduation rates for all campuses.
- Overall - Overall rates by campus, cohort composition by campus, and degrees completed by the initial campus vs other campuses.
- Characteristics - 4, 6, or 8 year graduation rates, by degree type, by campus, and broken down by a variety of demographics.
- 4,6,8 Year Rates - Trends of 4, 6, and 8 year graduation rates by campus and courseload.
- Campus Overview - Printable tabular report. Printing instructions are located on the ReadMe page.
- Graduation Rates by County and High School - Overall heat map of graduation rates by students' high school county. Selecting a county will provide a more detailed view of each high school in that county, and the graduation rates of the students who attended IU over a span of 5 cohort years.
- Retention & Graduation Rates - Big picture overview of second term (Fall to Spring) and second year (Fall to Fall) retention rates, and four, six, and eight year graduation rates on a single graph by campus.
Undergraduate Graduation Rates Report (Public)
The Public Graduation Rates report provides a big picture overview of second term (Fall to Spring) and second year (Fall to Fall) retention rates, and four, six, and eight year graduation rates for full-time bachelor's degree seeking students on a single graph by campus.
