The reports in this section provide student debt figures at graduation, aggregated by degree level and student attributes. For these reports, student debt includes the total student loan principal borrowed while attending IU at a particular degree level. Also, these reports are limited to graduates who entered IU as new, first-time students at their degree level. Finally, student loans from all federal and private sources that were processed through IU are included, while parent loans are excluded.
When considering student debt at graduation, it is important to put average student debt amounts in the context of the percentage of graduates who borrowed at all. The reports in this section allow users to report both the percentage of graduates with student debt, as well as the average or median student debt among those who borrowed.
IU appointed faculty and staff may use the menu on the left to select one of the secure reports showing typical student debt figures by IU student attributes.
