Annual Financial Aid Reports for Executive Leadership (IU Internal)
The reports below were prepared for IU Executive Leadership to highlight key initiatives, accomplishments, and positive trends related to student financial aid at IU.
In some cases, these reports differ from the standard IA Tableau reports available in Facts & Figures on this website. As a result, here are some guidelines for using the reports linked below:
- Student Loans: We recommend using the loan trends in the reports below, but using the IA Tableau reports for specific figures. The IA Tableau reports match what we report to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (ICHE). In contrast, the federal Direct Loan figures in the reports below from prior to 2022-23 focus on financial transactions in the fiscal year, regardless of the year in which students attended IU.
- IPEDS Average Net Price: We recommend using the IA Tableau reports of IPEDS Average Net Price to get more context. Those Tableau reports show more recent data for trends than the reports below.
- Direct Loan Default Rates: We recommend using the IA Tableau reports of Direct Loan Default Rates to see more context. Those Tableau reports show a comparison with public 4-year colleges and universities across the U.S. In contrast, the reports below show a comparison with all higher education institutions, including other education sectors with higher default rates like proprietary trade schools.
- Differences Between Campuses: The reports below focus on IU as a whole. As a result, they may not highlight the differences between the financial aid resources that are available to students at each IU campus. Users are encouraged to explore the IA Tableau reports to better understand the experiences of students at each campus.
