Sloan Equity and Inclusion in STEM Introductory Courses

The SEISMIC project aims to advance equity and inclusion in foundational STEM courses. Our change model is grounded in recent research exploring the reasons for the relatively slow adoption of evidence-based approaches to STEM education. One recent subproject has been the SEISMIC Equity Learning Communities (SELC) project, which has spearheaded the creation of course-level equity reports that provide in-depth representations of equity gaps for specific courses and timeframes. SEISMIC at IU Bloomington is a partnership between Research & Analytics, the Center for Learning Analytics & Student Success and the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning.
